About Me
Hi, I’m Morgan Thompson, a senior at Lafayette High School. I’m a motivated student who’s always looking for ways to grow, learn, and challenge myself. Throughout high school, I’ve been a part of the Commodore Media Group for 4 years and specialize in Photography, Videography, and Graphic Design. I’m passionate about building a strong future for myself and putting my best effort into everything I do. This portfolio highlights my experiences, achievements, and the progress I’ve made along the way.
A little more about me: I have my own photography business, which I started in 2024. I plan on growing and thriving throughout my career. I am also a part of the Women's Powerlifting Team at Lafayette High School. When I attend college, I want to major in Athletic Training at Itawamba Community College. And also, continue to take pictures for their athletic program. When I arrive at Itawamba, I want to be part of the Volleyball team and hopefully start a flag football organization for young women in the community.

Video editing
I got into creating hype videos for my media team because I wanted to bring more energy and excitement to the moments we were already capturing. After spending so much time photographing games and events, I realized that video gave me a new way to tell the story combining music, motion, emotion, and big plays all into one powerful piece.
Making hype videos allows me to showcase not just the highlights, but the passion behind our teams and the pride within our school. Seeing athletes, students, and families react to something I created is an amazing feeling. It makes me feel more connected to our community because I’m helping capture moments that everyone shares and celebrates together. In a way, I’m not just documenting memories I’m helping create the energy that brings us closer as a community.
Design and Marketing
By my sophomore year, I discovered graphic design and it completely changed things for me. What started as simple curiosity quickly turned into something I genuinely love. The more I learned, the more I realized how powerful design can be, how colors, layout, and small details can completely transform a message.
Graphic design gave me a new creative outlet . It allowed me to combine creativity with strategy and create visuals that not only look good but also communicate something meaningful. I love the process of starting with a blank canvas and turning it into something bold, eye-catching, and purposeful.
Honestly, I’m so grateful I found this passion. Graphic design doesn’t just feel like another skill. It feels like something I can continue to grow in.

Leadership

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to step into a leadership role as a member of the Executive Board while also serving as the lead photographer and it truly pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect.
Balancing both roles challenged me creatively and professionally. As lead photographer, I wasn’t just capturing moments; I was setting the standard for quality, directing shoots, mentoring others, and making sure our visual content reflected our vision. Being on the Executive Board meant I also had a voice in bigger decisions planning, organizing, and helping guide the direction of our team.
Here is a little excerpt about our Executive Board when some Ole Miss students from MSPA came to interview us!

This is our bi-weekly planner that I created to ensure we maintain a consistent and organized posting schedule every single day. The purpose of the planner is to map out our content in advance, assign responsibilities, and clearly outline what will be posted and when. By planning two weeks at a time, we can stay ahead, avoid last-minute scrambling, and make sure our messaging stays aligned with our goals and campaigns.
In addition to the planner, I also created a To-Do list to keep our team aligned on immediate priorities. The To-Do list highlights what needs to be completed right now, who is responsible for each task, and any relevant deadlines. This helps improve accountability, reduces confusion, and ensures that nothing falls through the cracks.
Together, the bi-weekly planner and the To-Do list help us stay organized, proactive, and efficient as a team.
Entrepreneurship

Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to start and grow my own photography business. I launched this business with the goal of expanding my reach within the athletic community and challenging myself creatively. I wanted to work with a wide range of athletes, teams, and sports so I could continuously develop my skills and gain experience in different environments.
Through this business, I’ve been able to photograph multiple sports, each requiring a unique approach in terms of timing, angles, lighting, and storytelling. Capturing fast-paced action has strengthened my ability to anticipate key moments, stay focused under pressure, and adapt quickly to changing conditions. Working with different players has also helped me understand how to highlight individual personalities, strengths, and emotions through my photos.
Starting my own business has also taught me valuable skills beyond photography.
Overall, creating my photography business has not only allowed me to refine my technical and creative abilities, but it has also helped me grow professionally and build meaningful connections within the sports community.

This is my new and improved price sheet for the 2026–2027 year! I’ve carefully updated my pricing to better reflect the quality of my work, the time and effort that goes into each session, and the overall experience I provide to my clients.
The updated price sheet is designed to be clear, organized, and easy to understand, with options that fit different needs, whether it’s individual athlete sessions, team media days, or game coverage. I’ve also made sure that each package clearly outlines what clients will receive, including the number of edited images, turnaround time, and any additional benefits.
This new pricing structure reflects my growth over the past year and my commitment to providing professional, high-quality sports photography while still being fair and accessible to the athletes and teams I work with.
